What is CBN?

If you or someone you love has trouble sleeping at night, and you want to start falling asleep and experience rest uninterrupted, then you are in the right place now! CBN is an exciting new cannabinoid that has a lot of potential to help people with insomnia and a host of other conditions and symptoms to find relief. Although CBN might seem too good to be true, this all-natural cannabis and hemp compound is as good as advertised!

Cannabinol (CBN) is a mildly psychoactive compound that is found in both the cannabis and hemp plants. For the record, Green Glass Labs does not sell cannabis-derived CBN or any other cannabis-derived products. All of our products, including our CBN products, are hemp-derived only. Therefore, from this point onward, we will assume that any CBN products that we discuss here are hemp-derived unless stated otherwise.

Although CBN is classified as a mildly psychoactive compound (because of its mildly sedative effect), CBN does not contain any THC, and it does not get you high. CBN is one of the cannabinoids that helps to create the entourage effect, a mechanism by which compounds found in the hemp plant synergize to modulate the overall psychoactive effects of the plant. When used individually or with CBD, CBN has the ability to alleviate insomnia by putting the body and the mind into a deep state of relaxation.

Understanding the Complex Relationship Between CBN and THC

CBN has been labeled a psychoactive compound because of its mildly sedative effects. Also, given that CBN has a lot of the same benefits as THC, it is reasonable to wonder if you can get high on CBN, but the answer is no. You cannot get high on CBN, and even though CBN is a degraded form of THC, you don't have to worry about there being anything more than trace amounts of THC in your CBN. CBN is still within the legal 0.3% THC that is allowed, but most of the time, the THC percentage is actually a lot less than that!

How is CBN Extracted?

CBN is obtained from oxidizing and decomposing THC in mature hemp. When THC is heated, exposed to light, and exposed to oxygen, it will naturally turn into CBN. Therefore, CBN is found in mature hemp plants, but it is not present in any measurable quantities in immature plants.

Extracting CBN from hemp is a bit of a science and a bit of an art form. Green Glass Labs works with some of the best extractors in the business, so we can guarantee that all of our products are consistent, pure, potent, and of the highest quality, and we can guarantee that all of our extracts are obtained using the best practices and standards in the industry. We have all of our products tested in-house and by a third-party testing firm to validate our claims about our products. Documentation is available upon request.

Can I Replace My Ambien with CBN?

This is a decision that is between you and your doctor. Green Glass Labs does not advise that you discontinue your medication without discussing the pros and cons of doing so at length with your primary care physician. A lot of people with sleep problems are attracted to CBN because it is a very effective, all-natural alternative to prescription sleeping pills, which almost always carry a level of toxicity and come with unpleasant side-effects.

If you would like to replace your prescription sleeping medication with CBN, please, explain it to your doctor, and follow his/her advice from there. Discontinuing any kind of medication abruptly can cause health problems in some instances, so it's best to discuss your goals and desires with your doctor first. Suffice it to say that some people have reportedly replaced their prescription drugs with CBN for sleep!

Now, let us touch on a matter that we eluded to already, the difference between CBN derived from hemp and CBN derived cannabis, as we want you to be informed on the subject.

Is Hemp-Derived CBN Better than Cannabis-Derived CBN?

Cannabis-derived CBN has been widely reviewed in a very positive manner. Likewise, CBN from hemp has been widely reviewed in a very positive manner. On the cannabis side, CBN users are often taking CBN with THC. On the hemp side, there are usually lots of other cannabinoids present, but there is no THC. Additionally, CBN has a lot of the same benefits of THC on top of being the "sleepy cannabinoid."

At Green Glass Labs, we do not sell cannabis-derived CBN for two reasons primarily:

Some CBN users are sensitive to THC. Perhaps they have had bad experiences with THC in the past, as THC is known to bring about anxiety and paranoia in some people. Further, there are a lot of people who can't afford to fail a drug test, and they need CBD products that are free of THC.

We want to sell a product that is legal in all 50 states, as most of our customers do not live in states where cannabis has been legalized recreationally. Plus, there is so much confusion with cannabis laws from state-to-state - even from county-to-county - that we have decided to focus our efforts on extracting CBN from hemp. This way, everyone can enjoy the benefits of the sleepy cannabinoid.

For the record, we are not against cannabis. In fact, we fully support the recreational and medicinal legalization of cannabis across the United States. At the same time, our focus is to provide top-notch cannabinoid products for medicinal purposes, and using hemp-derived cannabinoids is what has worked for our customers and us.

CBN is One of the Most Amazing Cannabinoids Discovered Yet

So far, researchers have discovered 113 different cannabinoids, and each cannabinoid has its own special characteristics, some of which overlap. In other words, each cannabinoid has its own special gifts, while sharing some of the same benefits of the other cannabinoids. Think of these "special gifts" as superpowers. In that respect, each cannabinoid has its own superpower, and CBN is called the "sleepy cannabinoid" for a reason! Make no mistake; CBN has been shown to help people sleep better. You don't have to take our word for it. Just research the subject online and see how many people are touting CBN for its sleep aid qualities, as well as its other verified health benefits.

With 113 different cannabinoids, many of which are relatively new discoveries, not every cannabinoid has been researched thoroughly by the scientific community. However, CBN is one of the cannabinoids that has been researched rather extensively. During the course of many studies, several things have been discovered about CBN, including the following:

Not only is CBN a sedative, but by consuming CBN in small amounts, 2.5mgs to 5mgs, you can receive the same sedative effects as a mild pharmaceutical.

For relaxation, if you consume 5 to 10mgs of CBN each night, it has been compared to 5 to 10mgs of Diazepam, which is a popular pharmaceutical.

With CBN, a little goes a long way, so you don't need much. It is extremely concentrated!

There are actually quite a few benefits of CBN that have been scientifically researched and proven. According to scientific research and studies, there are more benefits from using CBN, including the following:

  • Pain relief
  • Insomnia relief (sleep aid)
  • Bone cell growth
  • Anti-fungal
  • Anti-bacterial

Can You Overdose on CBN?

If you take too much CBN, you'll probably find yourself in a super-relaxed state. In order to overdose on CBN, you would have to take around 13,000 grams of it at once, which would be very hard to do and extremely - ungodly - expensive, so, no, you can't overdose on CBN! It is a perfectly safe, perfectly natural sleep-aid alternative to pharmaceuticals.

Start Off with Small Doses and Work Your Way Up

As with any other cannabinoid, if you have never used CBN before, Green Glass Labs recommends that you start off with small doses and incrementally take more. 2.5mgs to 5mgs is a good starting point. Test it on yourself and see how you react to it. If you need to, you can always dose up. Unfortunately, there are no black and white rules for any cannabinoids, so you really have to start off small and titrate your dosage.

Once you see how CBN works for you and your endocannabinoid system, you might discover that it is your favorite new cannabinoid! Indeed, a lot of CBN users have reported that CBN has been the most helpful cannabinoid for them. Just remember that it usually takes time for you to notice the difference, so follow through with your CBN regimen. Also, be aware that the longer you use CBN, the more effective it will become.

Should I Buy CBN Isolate?

If you are interested in trying CBN isolate versus CBN in a broad-spectrum oil, then the best advice we can give you is to test it on yourself first to see if you like the CBN isolate more. Some people like CBN isolate while many CBN users prefer taking CBN with a broad-spectrum CBD oil, so they still get the entourage effect. The CBD is actually purported to enhance or compliment the CBN, so it helps the CBN to work even better than it would on its own.

CBN for Insomnia: Why Sleeping Pills are Not the Solution!

When a person suffers from insomnia or some other sleeping disorder, sleeping pills are often the first solution sought after, although they should be one of the very last! According to experts, popular sleeping pills are addictive, they pose a risk for serious side-effects, and they often cause daytime drowsiness, which is a huge danger to anyone who is driving a vehicle or operating machinery!

Cannabinol provides an exciting all-natural sleeping pill alternative that can help you get to sleep, experience a deeper state of sleep, and even stay asleep longer - a win-win-win! Plus, you’ll wake up in the morning feeling refreshed and rejuvenated after a full night of healthful, deep sleep.

Buy CBN from Green Glass Labs

The scientific research of CBN is still in its infancy stages, but Green Glass Labs already has tinctures and extracts for sale. Insomnia is just one of the many conditions that can be treated with CBN, so it's exciting to release this new miracle cannabinoid to the public for consumption. Our industrial hemp farms are some of the first in America to extract wholesale CBN isolates and distillates for the purpose of manufacturing commercial-grade cannabinol products.

Green Glass Labs is a manufacturer of high-quality CBD products. We sell our products directly to consumers and to other businesses via our white label retail program.
